Networks and Communication Systems Group

The focus of the Networks and Communication Systems (NCS) research group lies on methods, models, and algorithms to enabling the convergence of computation and communication, thus gaining a high degree of flexibility in the design and operation of communication networks and distributed applications. Challenges to this vision arise in terms of methods for modeling interactions, data-based decision making, and performance of such converged systems. We are developing methods in the areas of network management and scheduling, as well as corresponding analytical models for the design, quantitative analysis, and optimal control of networked systems. Applications of these methods include adaptive communication protocols, flexible process control and monitoring methods, and real-time communication for industrial applications.
